This storyline is a bit popular but it was completely different in the telling. The more people that were introduced, the more intrigued I became. I wish Mia had touched briefly on what happened between Nico and Rosa, at least from his POV. And I certainly hope Chloe comes to her senses later on! Can't wait for more of the story.
The fight against evil just got real! Lots of suspense and mystery. Lots of action and adventure. Abby has to find out who she is. When she finds one answer another question pops up. Nico is an ex priest that battles demons. He will help Abby in her quest. I had to keep reading to find out all the answers. I could have used a few less battles, but those demons needed to be slain. Book one in the Revelations serious was fast paced, action pack, and filled to the brim with supernatural goodness. I really enjoyed the old western feeling, the town and it's people, and the whole setup of storyline around this location. The main character we start off with is a rough and gritty guy that you just loooove to like and despise all at once. We are quickly introduced to a young vampire that isn't as she seems, and unfortunately, the key to a dark prophecy everyone needs to prevent from happening. And the story starts rolling from there.

I really appreciated the author's way of directing the story continuously forward, nothing felt too slow or boring plot wise. The romance in it feels forced, however the action scenes and weave of the tale keep you turning (or scrolling) to the next page. Then BAM it's over and you need the next book to find out what's next. Seeing as it is book one, so we are introduced to quite a few characters. Don't worry, all part of the entanglement that is going to be the series of books tied into one adventurous plotline filled with monsters, demons, angels, vampires, werewolves, and much, much more.

If you like a little religion sprinkled on top of a lot supernatural, with a dash of romance, definitely check out this novel.
Simply Captivating. The author knows how to draw the reader in and make them part of the story. I look forward to reading more by this author.
LOVE LOVE LOVE the lore used here! I was getting some serious Constantine vibes, but I like the fact that there's less in the way of 'black and white' when it comes to supernatural creatures. I'd elaborate more, but that would mean spoilers, people. Characters were diverse and loveable and filled to the brim with sass. Story was a romp (in several ways). I need more Nico and Abby in my life!
I give a book a 5 star when it is well written and I can be one engaged. This book started of slowly for me. Now I also take into consideration that it might not be the same for everyone else. Once it drew me in I was hooked. The plot is well thought out and I really came to care about the characters. That for me is what makes a good book. Mia Bishop had me in tears, but the main characters get a HEA. But the story continues. I recommend this!
Holy cow emotional roller coaster! (In a good way!) Sacrifice had me turning pages late into the night. I cheered, I cried, I yelled. And now I want the next book. Ms. Bishop creates a world where religion, myths, and reality collide when Abby and Nico are tasked with stopping the apocalypse. But something darker is at play. What do you get when you mix a sudo-vampire, an ex-priest, and a New Mexico city? A whole lot of love, danger, and action. There is romance, but this book is so much more than paranormal romance. Bravo to Ms. Bishop for this masterpiece. Now go write the next book!
