I think the author was shooting for a Regency-era romantic comedy about righting old wrongs and I did smile at the few times of the antics of Grace and David. However, for the most part, I grew weary of the all-too-frequent references to David’s very active male member “growing hard” at the thought or sight of Grace. His all-too-frequent thoughts about having sex with Grace made his final profession of love feel a bit hollow and not terribly believable. In fact, the echo of the marriage vows hadn’t stopped before he pulled her into the bedroom to fulfill his fantasies. The secondary story Kate and Alex, Grace’s and David’s aunt and uncle as “victims” of one of those early wrongs was sweet but also filled with Alex’s anatomical imaginings. Their story was a bit more interesting and their HEA more satisfying. All other secondary characters were just window dressing.
The big house party climax was filled with a bit of slapstick including an eccentric hostess and her menagerie of a talking parrot and a mischievous monkey, the twin debutants getting in each other’s way as they stalk David to put him in the “parson’s mousetrap,” as well as a long lost grandmother and an angry father. This bit felt forced and contrived and Grace’s relationship with her father was left hanging near the end.
Bottom line: I enjoy a little spice in my romances but the sharp focus on David’s imaginings blunted the chemistry between he and Grace and it wasn’t until nearly 80% of the way into the story that I felt some sympathy for the two of them. I wanted to like this book, I really did. But bottom line, it was mostly boring.

Entertaining and some parts laugh out loud.
A little more sex than I like but it was cute. Smiled quite often, as there were some delightful repartee.
After getting into the book it was not a bad read. I found the description of the book misleading. The book seems to really center on the romance between Lady Kate Oxley and Mr Alex Winton, even though it describes a relationship between Baron Dawson and Lady Grace. The book had some rather humorous moments and once again pulled characters from Sally's other books into it. Both couples are intertwined in the story as Lady Kate is the aunt of Lady Grace...both appear to have their lives planned out by Lord Standen, the father of Grace and brother of Kate.
Not one of her best books but NOT one that I would say to skip either.
If you like Regency novels with a London setting, this one will do for you. Lady Grace Belmont goes to London for the Season for a last hurrah before she must marry the boring Mr. Parker-Roth. Grace feels there is no other choice for her since she sees herself as too tall and her bosom too large--hardly one to attract the attention of any of the titled London men. But she catches the eye of Baron Dawson, who is looking for a wife and rather likes tall women and certainly admires Grace's bosom. And so it goes, round and round and mixing in with Grace and David's merry-go-round of a love match is the problem of Grace's Aunt Kate (her chaperone) and Alex Wilton, David's uncle. They were once very much in love, but Kate left Alex years ago, because of a feud between the two families. Are you surprised to learn that all turns out just swell in the end? Ah, but it wouldn't be an English regency novel if it didn't, eh what? Good escapism.
I have read four of the books/stories (one that I read is not a full length novel) in the Naked series and this is my favorite so far. There are two romances in this book, both with happy endings. I liked both the hero and heroine. This book is about following your heart to love, even if some around you have other plans. The books tells the story of the romances between Lady Grace and Baron Dawson, and Lady Grace's Aunt Kate with Baron Dawson's Uncle Alex. My only complaint is that I would like to know more about what happened to both couples after the end. I got a glimpse in another book in this series, but not as much as I hoped. I liked the characters, and I rooted for them to find love with each other. Other characters in the book are fun, too, especially Motton's Aunt Winifred with her pet monkey and pet parrot. All in all, well done.
This is a cute story with two couples finding their HEA. The twist is that the aunt and niece are in love with an uncle and nephew that the head of the family detests. I would have given it a higher rating but I got extremely tired of the 'breast obsession' that most of the men seem to have when meeting the younger heroine. Then, there is a boring house party that I assume was meant to be funny and wasn't. This was the first book that I have read in the series and I am not sure if I care to read any others.
Sexual situations (very detailed) may offend some readers
What could have been a fun romp/comedy of manners was slowed tremendously for me by pages and pages of internal dialog of the characters in each scene. Many scenes would unfold from one participant’s point of view, and then be repeated from the POV of a different character. The characters were all likeable (with a couple of very minor exceptions), and I rooted for them to overcome the barriers that kept them apart. The trope is Romeo and Juliet — a multigenerational family feud keeps the lovers apart. There is a secondary love story too that is important to the momentum of the H/h’s budding romance. There are some fun elements that could have made the story more humorous but just came off as bizarre to me, such as a pet monkey that appeared a couple of times toward the end. I cared enough about the characters to finish the book tho, so that’s something. Other readers may enjoy it more than I.
